*SPOILER ALERTS*
Alright so a lot has happened since episode 1. The little girl is still missing but besides her being M.I.A. the only causalities thus far from Rick's group have been zombies. There has been a lot of zombie slayin' in the past few episodes. The group have also found themselves camped out on a nice little farm that dates back to the 1800's with an owner that talks sweet as honey, looks like Colonel Sanders, and can obviously preform medical miracles with little or no modern medical equipment.
Here are a few of my favorite events/twists/turns that have happened thus far-
1)Kid gets owned by a rifle. All I have to say about this is=wrong place at the wrong time and sometimes ya get the short end of the stick. One second the little boy is just admiring the beauty and life (something not seen very often in his eyes) of a beautiful deer and the next second he's laying on the ground with a grapefruit sized hole in him. Note to self-be careful around game of prey even if it's not hunting season.
2)They found refuge on a nice little farm. The dude who shot the deer and the kid indirectly lead a few members of the group back to this farm to save the kid's life. This is a beautiful little farm and they've got a nice set up. A Dr., I.V.'s, beds, running water, electricity--this place has got it all (even zombies locked in a big wooden barn-red flag? THINK SO). Colonel Sanders isn't too jazzed about hosting Rick's group long term, but we'll see how that pans out once the lives of the characters from both groups keep getting more intertwined.
(By the way, his real name is Hershel)3)The Wishing Well-Most people throw coins in to make a wish. Well this well doesn't have any coins but it sure has a zombie. This has been one of my favorite scenes from season 2. The 'let's get the zombie out of this well so that it doesn't contaminate our drinking water' scene. They don't want to shoot it because they are afraid it's blood/brains/etc. would further pollute the water. So they create this ingenious idea to lower Glenn down into the well to tie a rope around the zombie so they could just pull it out. I saw several holes in this plan before they did it but they obviously overlooked them. 1-The support beam holding the rope that Glenn is dangling from breaks mid dangle and he almost becomes zuppy (zombie/guppy) dinner. Some how he manages to loop the rope around the zombie and make it out without being bitten. Then they decide to pull this rather large and bloated dead thing out of the well. They get it to the top, it's half in, half out, and seems to be stuck on the lip of the well. They don't think to just pick up the things legs and then pull but decide to just keep pulling. Moral of the story the zombie splits in half and guts, zombie bits, blood, brown shit, and the lower half of the zombie's body all tumble right back into the well. It was probably the sickest scene all season and I'm glad they are upping the gory antics to keep their viewers on their feet!
4)SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER! SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER!-The high school is out forever because it's infested with WALKERS! Otis and Shane go to this high school to get medical equipment to save Carl (the kid who was looking at the deer and got owned by Otis the man previously mentioned above). I knew from the second this poor chubby man volunteered to go with Shane on this dangerous mission that he wasn't coming back alive. They get the equipment, some how manage to get out, and are running back to the car in front of a GIANT herd of zombies. What does Shane do? Sorry fattie...BLAM SHOOTS HIM IN THE LEGGG!! The fat guy goes down but not without a fight. He tries to take Shane down but his struggles were in vain. Shane limps away to the car with the screams of his human sacrifice echoing in his mind. This show brings up a ton of ethical principles. Did Shane do the right thing (sacrificing Otis to save the little boy?) Should you make sacrifices that benefit the majority of the group? Definitely gives you stuff to think about. Either way, I love the darkness that is taking over this character and can't wait to see what other shitty things he does as the season progresses!
5) RICK'S WIFE IS PREGNANT! I knew this since season 1. You want to know how I knew? At the end of season 1, during the finale', the lone scientist whispers something to Rick right before he runs out of the building..I figured out that what he told him was that his wife was pregnant. Want to know how I knew this? Lone scientist did blood tests on all the members of the group and the writers specifically put dialogue in that centered around Rick asking the scientist about the blood and the scientist with a mysterious look on his face said, "nope no surprises." Connect the dots people! So is it Shane's baby or is it Rick's baby conceived on the night of his return? I CAN'T WAIT until this shit pops off!
6)My favorite character of season 2 is Daryl Dixon. He's the bad guy with a heart of gold. A little rough around the edges but what a great heart. This man's a bad ass also. Hunts with a crossbow, was left in the wilderness to die after he fell off his horse, fought off zombies with an arrow stuck through his side, scaled a mountain, and made it back to camp only to dodge a bullet to the head! He is the unsung hero and I can't wait to see what the writers have lined up for his character. If he dies I'll be so heart broken. Like 'Charlie holding up his hand as he's running out of his lasts bits of air..not Penny's boat' heart broken!
7)Tie for scariest Zombie of the season thus far goes to:
Weird Hippie Priest Zombieand
Bloated Well ZombieWell there ya have! There are most of the highlights from the past few episodes! Season 2 has been pretty crazy and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Some things I'd like answered in season 2
-Where is the little girl? (I think Daryl's brother has her)
Some things I'd like answered in season 2
-Where is the little girl? (I think Daryl's brother has her)
-Is Daryl's brother still alive?
-Why is Colonel Sanders keeping a barn full of zombies?
-Is it Shane's baby or Rick's baby
If you haven't been watching this show I'd definitely peep it! And if you don't want to watch to get caught up..guess what? If you read this, now you are! Enjoy!
The little girl is still out in the wilderness and sooner or later is gonna stumble upon either (A)The Herd (B)El Chupacabra(zombie dog, just wait, thats my prediction) (C)Another lone walker (D)The group in a odd way or (E)all of the above convoluted into one thrilling episode.
ReplyDeleteDaryl's brother has got to be alive still... after sawing off his own hand and then they come back to the truck they left the keys in... and thats gone, who else?
He is keeping a barn full of zombies because they are people and still believes that they are in there somewhere, especially since his wife is one of them in the barn!
My money is that it's Shane's baby.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME COLONEL SANDERS' WIFE IS IN THERE!? I totally didn't watch the episode from Sunday haha...I probably should do that...
ReplyDeleteAs far as the little girl goes we can agree to disagree. I think Daryl's bro bro has her....
BUT I also think it's Shane's bay-beh
